A Sustainable Farming Adventure in the Carolinas

Agape Farm South proudly emerges as Dillon County’s (SC) newest farming venture, dedicated to cultivating lavender and medicinal herbs in the heart of the Palmetto State’s Pee Dee region. After three years of nurturing lavender and experimenting with various varieties, we eagerly anticipate our inaugural limited harvest in Spring 2025, followed by our first full lavender harvest in Spring 2026. But our journey is about much more than just growing lavender—we are committed to restoring the health of our land and surrounding environment. This land had traditionally been farmed in corn, soy and cotton rotations.

Rebuilding Soil Health and Practicing Sustainable Farming

At Agape Farm South (and North, will explain later), we believe in the power of regenerative agriculture. Our mission is not only to grow the highest-quality lavender but also to revitalize the soil through the planting of perennials and sustainable farming practices. By integrating conservation techniques and focusing on long-term soil health, we aim to improve biodiversity, reduce erosion, and restore fertility to the land. Forest Conservation and Invasive Species Removal

In addition to cultivating lavender, we are committed to restoring the health of our farm forest. We actively work to remove invasive plant species that threaten the natural balance of the forest, allowing native plants to flourish and enhancing the overall ecosystem. Agape Farm South (SC) is open by private invitation only at the moment. Conveniently located just fifteen minutes from Interstate 95 and fifteen minutes from Highway 501, which runs from Myrtle Beach to Southern Pines and beyond, Agape Farm South is an easily accessible destination if we get to the point of being open publicly. As we continue to develop our farm, we look forward to offering tours, workshops, and other events to showcase the beauty of lavender farming and our commitment to sustainable agriculture in the future.

At Agape Farm North (NC), our journey with lavender begins. Here, we carefully propagate lavender from cuttings or grow it from seed, nurturing each plant through its early stages in a controlled environment. This careful cultivation ensures that the lavender is strong, healthy, and ready to thrive when transplanted into the fields at Agape Farm South. By starting our lavender Agape Farm North, we ensure that every plant is given the best possible foundation before it takes root in the expansive fields of our South Carolina farm, where it will flourish and contribute to our sustainable lavender production.
